The Summer House cast member also revealed what she's looking for in a potential boyfriend.
When it comes to her romantic relationships, Paige DeSorbo admits she’s never been the chooser. And she has no intention of starting now.
“No, I don’t want that,” she said during a recent interview with Us Weekly.
The Summer House cast member addressed the subject while recalling a therapy session in which she was told that she has “never picked out a boyfriend.”
“It was like literally getting hit in the face with a brick,” she said about her therapist’s remarks. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I don’t think the girls know this, that we’re not picking our boyfriends.’ But no, she said that to me in my early 20s, and I just always remembered it.”
The revelation made a huge impact on Paige, so much so that she’s mentioned it in several interviews, including her April 17 appearance on Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast.
“I’ve never picked my own boyfriend, and it just kind of like hit me,” she said. “I mean [the therapist] was exactly right, and I was like, I couldn’t ever get that… I’m like, oh my god, I haven’t picked a single one of them. They’ve all picked me, and I’ve just gone along with it.”

Paige is now gearing up for her first single summer since exiting her 20s. Back in December, the 32-year-old announced her shocking breakup with Craig Conover, the Southern Charm-er she began dating in 2021.
“I’m excited. I haven’t been single for a summer in a while, but I’m also excited, too, because I’ve never been single in my 30s,” she told Us Weekly. “I feel like it is just drastically different than your 20s. I can’t go to a club until 1 a.m., I’ll spontaneously combust. Socializing single is very different in your 30s, but it’s very chic. It’s like, ‘Sorry, I have a business dinner. Can’t come on a date.’ I love saying that.”
What is Paige DeSorbo looking for in a boyfriend?
“I haven’t really been really dating, so nothing of a disaster yet, but time will tell,” she said. “I think now being in my 30s… there’s so many different things that you’re looking for than you were looking for at, like, 21. So, yeah, it’s very different dating now.”
She continued: “Now, compared to 21, I don’t care if he can go out and stay out and hang out with my friends. I’d actually prefer if he didn’t want to do that. I’m just looking for someone that meshes easily with my life. And being a reality TV person isn’t the easiest thing, so I think they’d have to have some kind of love for reality TV… Be a nice person, and love your mom, and call her occasionally. Nothing crazy.”
