“There’s this thing where women aren’t allowed to change their mind,” the Summer House star, 32, shared in an interview with Elle published on Wednesday, February 12. “And I feel that with the kid thing a lot – people being like, ‘You said you wanted to get married and you wanted to have a baby [young].’ And I’m like, ‘OK, well, I also used to go in a tanning bed.”

DeSrobo’s comments come nearly two months after she announced she and then-boyfriend Craig Conover broke up after three years of dating. “I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends. No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing,” she explained on the December 30 episode of her and Hannah Berner’s “Giggly Squad” podcast while announcing the split. “I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.”

Shortly after news of their split broke, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that “Craig was ready for the next steps and had plans to propose to Paige,” but that the pair’s long-distance relationship made things hard.

“Paige does not want to move to Charleston, and logistically it was never going to work out long-term,” the insider added. “Many of their friends are not shocked at all, but everyone is sad for them.”

DeSorbo —who has since denied rumors she cheated on her ex — revealed on the January 28 episode of her podcast that she was planning to freeze her eggs. “When I first decided to freeze my eggs it wasn’t like, 'Oh my God, my career!' I genuinely thought that at 32 I would have a kid,” she said. “But always in the back of my head, I was, like, what if I get to 39, 40, and I’m like, 'Wait, I want one more.' … Now it’s different, I need it as a security … but it is making me relax a little bit though, knowing that I’m doing it.”

In her interview with Elle, DeSorbo opened up about how “people treat you differently” after turning 30, stating, “They expect different things from you. And when you’re a guy, they don’t.”

Pointing out society’s lingering double standards, she added: “I have a ton of guy friends who are turning 40, single, no kids, and it’s like, ‘You’re such a hot bachelor.’ I mention I want to get a second cat, and it’s like, ‘She’s crazy.’”

When asked what she’s looking for in a relationship after parting ways with Conover, 36, DeSorbo quipped: “Nothing. I want nothing from them.”

For now, she’s focused on making the right choices in her professional and private life. “I feel like if you make a hard decision for yourself, the universe really does reward you,” she told the outlet. “As long as I keep making decisions that are good for me…and are good for my career and good for my relationships, the universe will put it on a silver platter and give it to me.”
