Pаntһerѕ' Dаvіd Tepper Rаnked Second-Worѕt іn NFL Ownerѕһіp Survey

The NFL Players Association’s annual report card for 2025 painted a troubling picture for the Carolina Panthers and their owner, David Tepper.

The organization ranked 31st out of 32 teams, marking a steep decline from the previous year’s survey. Players cited concerns over inadequate facilities, declining travel conditions, and the continued use of artificial turf rather than natural grass as key reasons for their dissatisfaction.

Despite Tepper’s reputation as one of the most successful hedge fund managers of his generation, his leadership of the Panthers has not translated into the same level of excellence.

Since purchasing the team in 2018 for $2.3 billion, Tepper has struggled to establish a stable and winning culture. His decisions, including multiple coaching changes and the franchise's ongoing rebuild, have left the team in a state of flux.

The NFLPA report card further highlights how the Panthers lag behind other organizations in providing a top-tier environment for their players. Teams like the Miami Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, and Minnesota Vikings received A+ grades, showcasing their commitment to player well-being and operational excellence. In contrast, Carolina’s D- grade places them among the league’s bottom tier, just ahead of the New York Jets, who received an F.

Tepper’s guiding philosophy, “Learn it, Earn it, Return it,” suggests a commitment to growth and giving back, but Panthers players have yet to see meaningful improvements under his ownership.

If Tepper wants to reshape his team’s reputation, significant investments in infrastructure, player amenities, and team culture will be necessary. Otherwise, the Panthers risk further alienating their players and falling even further behind in an increasingly competitive league.
