Don't pencil in a defender for the Carolina Panthers' first-round pick just yet.
Joe Person of The Athletic, a longtime Panthers beat reporter, just released his second big board for the team ahead of the 2025 draft. Included on the comprehensive list of this year's prospects is University of Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, whom Person writes the following about:
McMillan has great size (6-4, 219) and an uncanny ability to high-point the ball. Without blazing speed, there are concerns about his ability to separate. Some in Carolina’s organization are intrigued.
Carolina should still have some work to do at the wideout position this offseason.
The team's receiving room is headed by second-year youngsters Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker as well as soon-to-be 35-year-old Adam Thielen. Behind them sits veteran David Moore and Dan Chisena, who was used mostly on special teams in 2024.
McMillan could give quarterback Bryce Young and the offense the true No. 1 target they currently lack. The ultra-productive 2024 consensus All-American, over three seasons for the Wildcats, amassed 3,423 yards and 26 touchdowns on 213 receptions.
