Bryce Young is focused on improving his game throughout the offseason to the Carolina Panthers’ benefit.
The 2024 season marked a roller coaster for Young. Struggling in the first two games, the Panthers benched him in favor of Andy Dalton. He later got back the starting job in Week 8, where he proceeded to deliver better performances that showcase promise.
Young reflected on his growth throughout last season, knowing how important it will be for him and the Panthers to start strong in 2025.
“For me, it all resets year by year. We’re able to finish on a strong note, which is great, but we’re starting next year 0-0, and it doesn’t carry over. We understand that we have to build off of that stuff; we’re not just entitled to it,” Young said.
What lies ahead for Bryce Young, Panthers
Bryce Young persevered against his challenges throughout the 2024 campaign, leaving hope that he can put together a solid all-around season in 2025.
The first two games were brutal for Young, throwing three interceptions and zero touchdowns in blowout losses. Despite this, he finished the season on a better note that can give him momentum for 2025.
After 14 games, Young went 4-8 in his 12 starts. He completed 234 of his 384 passes for 2,403 yards and 15 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also was aggressive on the ground, making 43 rushes for 249 yards and six touchdowns.
Young has seen a lot of change throughout the Panthers since the franchise drafted him with the first pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. Starting from the bottom is often tough for players who have the talent to potentially elevate franchises. Doing that throughout the course of the regular season is even harder.
The 2025 campaign will mark Young’s third season in the NFL. While he has plenty of time to keep growing and developing into one of the better young quarterbacks in the league, the Panthers need all the progress they can get from him to make a case for playoff contention.
