Panthers have hosted a projected first-round 2025 NFL Draft prospect who could take QB Bryce Young's development to the next level

We are just over one week away from the 2025 NFL Draft. Teams are finalizing their player rankings and preparing for as many different draft day scenarios as possible.

The Carolina Panthers have nine selections, including five in the top 114. Their first comes at No. 8 overall, which they could go several different directions with. One prospect they could pick is Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who Carolina has hosted on a top-30 visit per Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz.

What is a top-30 visit?

A top-30 visit denotes one of the 30 prospect visits allowed for teams during the pre-draft period. The Panthers host prospects varying from potential first-round selections to those who go undrafted, providing them a glimpse into NFL life in Carolina. Although no on-field workouts will occur, teams can utilize this opportunity to conduct meetings with coaching staff for film analysis, perform physical exams with team doctors, tour the facilities, and more.

How does McMillan fit with the Panthers?

McMillan is arguably the most complete WR in this year's draft class, and is ranked No. 2 at the position by our A to Z Sports Film Room.

McMillan has great measurables at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds with 10 inch hands. He is a great short to intermediate route runner who is a natural at finding space to get open. Although he isn't the fastest WR, McMillan will have a size advantage over most defensive backs and can win contested throws down the field.

If the Panthers drafted McMillan, it would be the second consecutive year they took a WR in the first round after selecting Xavier Legette in 2024. Some may find it frustrating to continue to invest high draft capitol at the same position, but others believe doing so is crucial to quarterback Bryce Young's development.

McMillan would not only provide Young with a safety blanket option who is consistently open, but he would instantly be their best deep threat. Our A to Z Sports Mock Draft Database has McMillan ranked as the No. 6 prospect overall, and projects him being selected between No. 4-17.
