The Carolina Panthers will be without another key player at the start of training camp.
As announced on Tuesday, the Panthers have placed defensive lineman Bobby Brown III on the active/non-football injury list. Brown's injury was not disclosed in the team's official statement.
Brown signed with the Panthers on a three-year, $21 million deal this offseason. He spent his first four NFL campaigns as a member of the Los Angeles Rams—amassing 84 combined tackles (nine for a loss), half a sack, two quarterback hits and one pass defensed.
2024 saw the 6-foot-4, 332 pounder start in a career-high 16 games. Brown, whose Los Angeles ties intersect with Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, is the projected starter for the team at nose tackle.
Carolina already sidelined three players on Monday, placing tight end Tommy Tremble and wide receiver Dan Chisena on the active/physically unable to perform list and punter Sam Martin on the active/non-football injury list.
All four players can be activated at any time during camp.
Update: Per Joseph Person of The Athletic, Brown has a hamstring injury and is not expected to miss much time.
