Panthers’ star sends strong message to Charlotte youth with surprise school visit

Panthers QB Bryce Young spreads motivation and Bo-Berry Cookies to local schools, proving his leadership extends far beyond the gridiron.

Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young is making just as much of an impact off the field as he is on it. On Monday, the former No. 1 overall pick took time out of his offseason schedule to visit schools in the Charlotte area, delivering a dose of inspiration—and dessert—to local students.

From Champion to Cheerleader

At West Charlotte High School, Young walked into a celebration-worthy environment. The school’s state-champion football team and the girls’ flag football team were surprised to find the Panthers QB there with a box of Bojangles’ Bo-Berry Cookies in hand. But Young didn’t just come bearing treats—he came with perspective.

“I was able to have a lot of people, whether it was up close or from afar, that I could look at and try to learn from and be inspired by,” Young told the students. “You know, [I’m] blessed to be able to have that opportunity now, and I don’t take that lightly.”

In just two seasons, Young has thrown for over 5,000 passing yards and 27 touchdowns, but it’s this type of connection that builds a legacy deeper than numbers.

In the Classroom, Too

Young also made a surprise stop at Ranson Middle School, where he recognized students who hit academic milestones. As he posed for photos and fielded questions, it was clear the kids weren’t just excited to see a pro athlete—they were inspired by someone who looked them in the eye and valued their efforts.

Heading into his third NFL season, Young is expected to lead a rejuvenated Panthers offense following a promising draft class. But in Charlotte classrooms, he’s already proven he’s the leader the Carolinas hoped for when they drafted him in 2023.

Panthers fans—Bryce Young is building more than a team; he’s building a community. Follow the team this season to watch how leadership on and off the field translates into wins.
