Pavel Dorofeyev to participate in skills challenge for good cause

Pavel Dorofeyev made his mark with the Vegas Golden Knights last season.

During the 2024-25 season, Dorofeyev lead the Golden Knights with 35 goals, including 13 on the power play. A third-round pick of the team in 2019, Dorofeyev’s skill has translated to the NHL level, resulting in him becoming a top-six fixture for Vegas. Whether he remains on Tomas Hertl’s wing or potentially gets bumped up to play with Jack Eichel or Mitch Marner, the Russian forward is looking to continue building on his breakout season.

The first step on that journey will end up in Stamford, Connecticut, when Dorofeyev takes the ice to support a good cause.

Dorofeyev will represent the Golden Knights to support a mental health initiative.

On July 24, Dorofeyev and other NHL players will participate in the Shoulder Check Showcase.

Starting in 2023, the Shoulder Check Showcase is sponsored by the HT40 Foundation. The foundation is named after Hayden Thorsen, a goaltender from Darien, Connecticut, who tragically passed away in 2022 after battling mental health issues. The goal of the foundation and the showcase is to continue raising awareness, urging people to make contact with anyone they know who might be going through a hard time in their lives.

Dorofeyev will be joined at the event by former Golden Knights and current New York Rangers backup goaltender Jonathan Quick. Other notable players at the event include new Philadelphia Flyers forward Trevor Zegras, Darien native and Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Spencer Knight and Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger.

For Dorofeyev to be brought up in the same breath as those players is impressive enough as is, and he hopes to impress as he brings awareness to such a fantastic cause.
