Pittsburgh Penguins forward Blake Lizotte will miss Tuesday’s home game against the Chicago Blackhawks due to an undisclosed injury.
Coach Mike Sullivan revealed Lizotte’s status following a morning skate in Cranberry and labeled him as day to day
Primarily deployed as the fourth-line center and with the penalty kill, Lizotte has played in 59 games this season and has scored 20 points (11 goals, nine assists) while averaging 12:43 of ice time per contest.
Forward Philip Tomasino is also slated to be scratched Tuesday due to a concussion that sidelined him in Sunday’s 3-1 road loss to the Blackhawks.
In 59 games this season, Tomasino has posted 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) while clocking an average of 13:04 of ice time per contest.
In 31 NHL games this season, Nieto has scored three points (one goal, two assists) while averaging 12:14 of ice time per contest.
With Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Nieto has appeared in 15 contests and posted seven points (three goals, four assists).
Forward Tommy Novak remains out due to an unspecified injury that has sidelined him for the past 12 games.
Defenseman P.O Joseph, currently designated to injured reserve, worked out on the ice prior to the morning skate. He has been sidelined for the past 16 games.
Notes:
• Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry is scheduled to start Tuesday’s game.
In 33 games this season, Jarry has a 14-11-6 record, a 3.26 goals against average, an .888 save percentage and one shutout.
Throughout his career, Jarry has faced the Blackhawks in four contests and posted a 1-2-1 record, a 2.50 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.

• The Blackhawks are expected to start goaltender Spencer Knight. In 35 games this season, Knight has a 16-15-2 record, a 2.62 goals against average, a .904 save percentage and two shutouts.
During Sunday’s win, Knight made 28 saves on 29 shots.
