Penguins Prospect Selected To AHL All-Star Classic

   

2023-24 Season in Review: Emil Bemstrom - PensBurgh

On Wednesday afternoon, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced that Emil Bemström was selected for the AHL All-Star Classic on February 2-3 in Palm Desert, California. 

The 25-year-old native of Nyköping, Sweden, is making his first AHL All-Star Classic appearance. In 28 games, Bemström leads the Penguins in scoring with 12 goals and 28 points in 27 games. 

On top of being the team's leading scorer, he ranks fourth in penalty minutes (26), third in power-play goals (three), first in points-per-game (1.04), and the only skater with over 100 shots on goal (104).  

Last season, Bemström played 24 games in Pittsburgh, scoring three goals and five points. In his NHL career, which includes five seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets, he's scored 31 goals and 69 points in 204 games. 

Meanwhile, in the AHL, where he's also played with the Cleveland Monsters, Bemström has 38 goals and 75 points in 60 games.
