On top of scratching Gabe Perreault, Brennan Othmann will also serve as a healthy scratch for the New York Rangers on Thursday night against the New York Islanders.

Othmann has been steadily improving through his stint with the Rangers this season, especially recently, which is why this move comes as a bit of a surprise.

At one point, Othmann was even playing on the team’s top line alongside Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck.

Juuso Parssinen, who hasn’t played since Mar. 25 against the Los Angeles Kings, is taking Othmann’s spot in the lineup.

The Rangers acquired Parssinen from the Colorado Avalanche as part of the Ryan Lindgren trade, but he’s only suited up in eight games for the Blueshirts.
