The fan favorite actor comments on if he's open to returning to the Peacock streaming soap opera.
One of Days of our Lives’ most iconic actors, Peter Reckell, who portrays one of the soaps biggest personalities, Bo Brady, has opened up about whether he is interested in returning to the series.
Back in 2018, on his debut anniversary, the actor posted to Twitter: “On this day, what seems like a lifetime ago, I realized I was the luckiest man on Earth! What a gift, what a ride, it was amazing!”
Now the actor has retweeted that sentiment with a bit of an addition saying, “Several of you responded by asking me to come back to DOOL. I would love to go back, the show just has to find room for me. Thanks so much for your continued support, it means a lot after all these years!!
Reckell is making his return to Days of Our Lives this spring for a short story arc. His character Bo Brady will reunite with his on-screen love interest Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) after having been apart for over 13 years.
On-screen, Bo Brady left Salem in November 2012, but the two remained married until September 2014, when Bo filed for divorce. In 2015, Bo returned to Salem to be with his “Fancy Face” and saved Hope from being murdered by her new husband Aiden Jennings. Bo was then quickly diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and passed away… only it turns out that Bo didn’t die.
Megan Hathaway took control of Bo’s body and with the help of Dr. Rolf was able to keep Bo in a state of existence, curing him of his ailments. Bo was awakened in 2021 during Beyond Salem Season 2. Bo was not himself as he was suffering from Megan’s manipulation. He lured Hope out and attempted to murder her. However, he was stopped and shot by his son Shawn Douglas moments before taking Hope’s life. Since then, Bo has been in a coma. Years later, he is set to wake up and return to Salem once again.
Additional returning faces appearing on the soap opera this year include Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), her father Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), and his wife Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves). Also returning this year are twins Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), Sami’s son, Will Horton (Chandler Massey), and his daughter who is also Sami’s granddaughter, Arianna Horton (Marissa Reye). Also making an appearance this year will be Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), and his wife Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley).
