PFF selects Haason Reddick's 'best landing spot' this offseason

The New York Jets are entering a turning point for their franchise in 2025, as new general manager Darren Mougey and head coach Aaron Glenn are tasked to turn the team around after a disappointing season.

The decisions by Mougey and the front office this offseason will play a big role in the future of the team, starting with free agency in March.

Who will the Jets retain and who will they let walk?

The duo must decide what to do with a handful of important pieces, including defensive end Haason Reddick, whose time with the Jets did not go as planned.

In Pro Football Focus’ list of best landing spots for top free agents, they thought that Reddick would be the best fit not with the Jets but rather the Arizona Cardinals.

Ironically enough, Reddick began his NFL career in Arizona as a first-round pick but it did not workout for him there. Reddick eventually broke out in 2022 and 2023 while with the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 2024, Reddick played in just 10 games and recorded one total sack in New York after a lengthy holdout. Many predict him to walk out the door, unless by miracle the new front office and head coach can repair that relationship.

The Cardinals, on the other hand, were lacking an explosive pass rush last season. They ranked bottom-10 in the NFL in both quarterback pressures and pressure rate.

Reddick’s holdout in New York during the first half of 2024 casts a shadow over an otherwise stellar track record as he enters free agency. Despite not playing until Week 8, Reddick still managed to showcase his talent, with his 34 sacks over the past three seasons ranking among the NFL’s top 10.

While his production speaks for itself, teams may be cautious about committing significant cap space to a player with recent off-field uncertainty. However, a reunion with Jonathan Gannon—who coached Reddick during his breakout 2022 campaign in Philadelphia—could be a perfect fit for a team familiar with his effectiveness as a pass rusher.
