Sai De Silva called out haters for claiming she wore a “wig” on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, as the star told fans, “This is my real hair!”
Last season on the show, many viewers targeted Sai for how she interacted with her co-stars. Now, more and more viewers are getting on her side as she opens up about her recent spiritual journey.
But one hater on X, formerly known as Twitter, suggested Sai was wearing Real Housewives of Potomac star Ashley Darby’s “hand me down wig.”
“But I’m not wearing a wig,” Sai responded in a comment. “This is my real hair.”
She then addressed it in an Instagram video shared by @cici.loves.you.
“The internet is dragging my hair in last night’s episode,” said Sai. “I’m not wearing a wig. This is my hair.”
“And it’s actually kind of falling out over here,” Sai added, and she then pulled it to show that it’s real. “This is my hair, guys. I’m not wearing a wig. I have a curly bob. This is my real hair! I think you’re so used to seeing me wear fake hair that when I’m sharing my real hair, you don’t believe it. Sorry! Sorry, Twitter, and the internet.”
On her Instagram Stories, Sai shared an image of NeNe Leakes with a blond, curly hairdo, as a fan wrote: “[The] wig Sai has on is giving [this]…”
“I can’t stop laughing,” Sai reacted in the caption. “How the hell do I get roasted for wearing my real hair?? The internet is undefeated.”

After the post, fans then responded in the comments.
“Her hair is incredible. If I was her I’d never wear fake hair,” wrote one user. “She is blessed.”
One fan pointed out how viewers should stop criticizing stars’ appearances.
“I didn’t particularly like how everyone drug her for her hair,” said another. “It’s 2024, people’s looks should really be off limits for mature adults.”
“People are so ridiculous. She looked gorgeous, as usual!! Her curl is perfection,” wrote a third.
“I love [Sai] even more now! Her natural hair is gorgeous!” wrote @cici.loves.you. “The curls look gorgeous!”
“Sai your hair is beautiful and so are you,” said another.
