Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas may be facing around $3 million in tax liens, but that isn’t getting in the way of their fun.
Weeks after being labeled “tone deaf” for posing in a designer T-shirt and declaring herself “unstoppable,” the 52-year-old Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her husband of two years traveled to Miami, Florida, where they attended an over-the-top birthday for a friend and gifted her Chanel.
“Such a beautiful gift,” Taja wrote in the caption of a video of herself opening a box filled with a printed Chanel scarf.
Meanwhile, in another Instagram post, Teresa and Luis were seen posing with their friends at the Habibi Miami, a Moroccan restaurant on the Miami River.
“A night to remember with new and old friends (finally got to meet with the OG [Teresa Giudice] and my brother from another mother [Luis Ruelas]) and there was so much love for our birthday girl [Taja Abitbol] in the room. The ‘Taja Effect’ birthday extravaganza [Habibi Miami] was one Miami will not be forgetting anytime soon,” read the caption of the post.
As RHONJ fans have surely heard, Luis has been hit with a couple of tax liens in recent months, including one for $163,523.94 in December of last year, and another for $2,569,842.06 in March. Meanwhile, also in March, Teresa was faced with her own lien in the amount of $303,889.20.
That same month, while appearing on Michelle Barone RED, Teresa insisted Luis had gotten a “bad rap” on the show and applauded his “amazing” business sense.
Amid their tax woes, insiders suggested that friends “don’t trust” Luis, and they are “worried” about Teresa. This comes as Luis has seemingly attempted to get a grip on his finances by requesting an extension on a $1 million loan he took out last year — and applying for an additional $250,000.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently on pause.
