Picture it: Kate Roberts Brady has been keeping vigil by her son’s bedside for WEEKS. The devoted mother just returned from John Black’s funeral, and she’s right back at Philip’s side, praying for a miracle. Meanwhile, at the nurses’ station, Xander and Sarah Horton Kiriakis are having a heated argument about their daughter Victoria. Xander just bought a new outfit for his little girl at Saxton’s and desperately wants to see her, but Sarah is having NONE of it.

Can you blame her? The man’s out on bail for nearly killing his own brother!

After that explosive argument with Sarah, where does Xander go? Straight to Philip’s hospital room. And what does he do?

He picks up a pillow.

I cannot even process what I’m typing right now. Xander — standing over his comatose brother with a pillow in his hands, looking like he’s about to finish what he started! The man who’s already accused of beating Philip nearly to death is now apparently trying to smother him?!

And Alex STILL wants to publish that manuscript. After everything that’s been happening with that book floating around Salem, these two just can’t help themselves.
