Porsha Williams Reflects on Her Marriage to First Husband, Kordell Stewart

Porsha Williams has lived her romantic life in front of the world since she was first introduced to The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast in Season 5. Porsha's love life has always been front and center and through it all, she's shown resilience at every stage of love. In fact, at that time of her first season on RHOA back in 2012, she was married to former football pro, Kordell Stewart.

Not long after her debut season, the pair eventually divorced in 2013 — and Porsha has never been shy, even after their split, to reflect on that time in her life.

Porsha Williams reflects on marriage lessons learned from her first husband

In an interview with The Daily Dish in 2017, Porsha shared the biggest takeaways she learned when she walked away from that first marriage.

"It's hard to say [what lessons I learned] because what I really loved about marriage was that union. I loved knowing that I belonged to someone. They belonged to me and that I had a household that I was taken care of and that I was proud in that moment," she told The Daily Dish. "And I think that will probably be what will force me to get married again 'cause that fulfillment means a lot to me, family means a lot to me."

In 2020, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Porsha revealed that at the close of her first season on RHOA, she was nervous about her future on the show as Kordell didn't show up for the reunion amid their marital woes.

"When I was sitting on that couch [at the reunion], and I had asked my ex[-husband Kordell Stewart] to come to the reunion, and he didn't come, I was like 'Lord, this is big.'...  I literally was doing everything," she said, adding to a fan when asked what her advice to her Season 1 self would be: "'Girl, you ain't gonna get fired. You ain't gonna get fired by Andy [Cohen]. You're gonna still be there, girl,'"
