Porsha Williams Wins Filming Rights In Divorce Battle

ATLANTA, GEORGIA - JUNE 6: Porsha Williams attends Kenya Moore's hair spa grand opening at Kenya Moore Hair Spa on June 6, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Porsha Williams gains a small win in her recent divorce battle with soon-to-be ex-husband, Simon Guobadia.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star was victorious in her battle to film inside the house she shared with Guobadia, however, he isn’t happy about the outcome. Reports state that the Nigerian businessman has filed a motion asking the judge to “reconsider the decision that granted Porsha the right to film RHOA within the marital residence.”

His legal team is claiming the court contradicted itself and said that the judge said that the issue of filming would require a hearing. Guobadia also argued that his November 19 order that allowed Porsha to film inside the house was issued without the “presentation of evidence or an official hearing.”

His lawyer said, “Simon files this Motion to Vacate Order on Filming in Marital Residence and seeks to have this Court vacate its November 19, 2024 Order because the Court failed to conduct a hearing as it previously indicted it would on the issue, the Court did not receive any evidence to support its ruling, and equity demands that this Court vacates the Order.”

Porsha Williams’ reasoning for filming inside of the house is because of employment, but Simon Guobadia refutes those claims. Williams reportedly has not provided supporting documents related to her RHOA employment such as her contract and salary details.

Guobadia’s legal team added, “On one hand Porsha wanted to use her employment to obtain relief from the Court, but on the other hand she wants to use the Court to avoid providing documentation of her employment to Simon to prevent him from preparing a defense against Porsha’s claims.”

They continued, “Furthermore, Porsha has been selective about what provisions of the prenuptial agreement she wants this Court to enforce for her benefit and what provisions of the prenuptial agreement she wants this Court to ignore when doing so benefits her.”
