The Denver Broncos made some major additions during free agency, then selected seven players in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Now, it's time to see how and where everybody will fit in as rookie minicamp is just weeks away and offseason OTAs are set to take place in about a month. The Broncos are looking to build off their 10-win season in 2024, which resulted in their first playoff appearance in a decade.
Given their success last year and the upgrades they've made this offseason, Denver could be a trendy pick to become a legitimate contender in 2025. NFL.com's Eric Edholm placed the Broncos at No. 11 in his post-draft power rankings, stating that they are on the "cusp of contender status."
"The addition of versatile cover man Jahdae Barron to one of the league's better defenses had to be a scary sight for the other AFC West teams. And then there's edge menace Sai'vion Jones, one of my favorite picks they made. The Broncos are coming for the division title, and they might not be that far off. Running back RJ Harvey was not my favorite back in this class, but I always hesitate to be too critical of picks such as this in the hands of Sean Payton, who has used that position as effectively as almost any offensive coach this millennium. Same goes for Pat Bryant at receiver. Big picture, Denver is in really nice shape, and just a few years ago, this thing looked kinda messy. Payton has helped iron out the whole operation, and the quick ascension of Bo Nix has been a big part of that. I have the Broncos right on the cusp of contender status again." - Eric Edholm
An argument could be made that the Broncos belong in the top 10, but they do play in arguably the best division in the league. Even being much improved, they still have to show they can hang with the big boys of the AFC, such as the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens. However, Denver has certainly built its roster in order to take those teams down by assembling a potentially elite defense.
