Potentіаl Bruіns Tаrget Joіns Mарle Leаfs Orgаnіzаtіon

When looking at the Boston Bruins' roster, it is fair to argue that it would not hurt for them to bring in at least one forward on a professional tryout (PTO) contract before the start of training camp. This is especially so when looking at their depth at right wing.

Due to this, one player who stood out as a solid PTO target for the Bruins was Alex Nylander. However, that thought can now be forgotten, as he has signed a contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs' AHL affiliate, the Toronto Marlies.

Seeing Nylander sign an AHL deal with the Marlies is understandable. His brother, William Nylander, is one of the Maple Leafs' top superstars. However, with this being an AHL contract, Alex will need to impress with the Marlies and earn an NHL deal from the Leafs before getting the chance to play with his brother.

Nylander, 26, notably had a fantastic finish to the 2023-24 season after being traded by the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Columbus Blue Jackets. In 23 games for the Blue Jackets, he posted 11 goals and 15 points.

While Nylander is officially off the board, there are still some players left in free agency who could be interesting PTO grabs for the Bruins. Among the most notable players still available include Tyler Johnson, Filip Zadina, Dominik Kubalik, Alexander Barabanov, Mike Hoffman, and former Bruin James van Riemsdyk.
