Miranda Lambert has recently been honored by the Lone Star State with a prestigious award: she was named Texas State Musician for 2025, a distinction granted by the Texas Commission on the Arts and the Texas Legislature to Texans who have brought pride through their artistic accomplishments and support of local creative communities

This latest recognition builds on her earlier accolade of receiving the Texas Medal of Arts in February 2023, awarded to extraordinary Texans such as Willie Nelson and Lyle Lovett

 Why This Matters

  • Deep Texas Roots: Born in Longview and raised in Lindale, Lambert has always drawn creative inspiration from the Texas music scene. Her album Postcards from Texas, and her ongoing work with Big Loud Texas, honor that heritage

  • Building Opportunity: Through her imprint Big Loud Texas, co-led with producer Jon Randall, Lambert actively signs and develops talent from her home state—providing a platform for Texas-based artists to shine outside of Nashville

  • Trailblazing Career: With a record-breaking 38 ACM Awards (including her Triple Crown in 2023), multiple GRAMMYs, and now recognition as the official Texas State Musician, Lambert’s legacy continues to soar

  • Miranda Lambert’s latest distinction affirms her role not just as a celebrated performer, but as a promoter of Texas music and a mentor for emerging artists from the state. Her passion for Texas—from songwriting and recording to fostering local creatives—continues to shape her identity and impact.
