During Season 13 of Real Housewives of New Jersey, newbies Rachel Fuda and friend of the housewives Jenn Fessler hit it off. They had a refreshing friendship that seemed authentic. Cut to Season 14 of RHONJ, where all the ladies’ friendships have shifted.
After Teresa Giudice brought up Rachel’s husband John Fuda’s past of being a “drug dealer,” Rachel and John were done with Teresa. A sit-down with the trio, plus Teresa’s silent husband, Luis Ruelas, just fanned the flames of their feud. So, when Jenn started to hang out with Teresa, Rachel was hurt. And when Rachel asked Jenn not to discuss her, or John, with Teresa, Jenn kept forgetting the memo. So, where do Jenn and Rachel stand now?
Rachel Fuda and Jenn Fessler aren’t communicating
Jenn told BravoTV.com that her falling out with Rachel has been difficult. “You always want to have your friends’ backs and you always want to be loyal. It’s not been quite as easy this season to maintain friendships,” she explained.
She also detailed how quickly she and Rachel bonded last season. “It was amazing. It was really, really nice,” Jenn stated. “And things have changed a little bit. I try to defend my friends to the best of my ability whilst still hearing another side — while being open to other people’s point of view and their truths.” She added, “I don’t know that it landed quite like I wanted it to, but that was always my intention.”
At Danielle Cabral’s Boujie Kidz event, Jenn tried to defend John to Teresa and her daughter, Gia Giudice. But when Rachel found out, she told Jenn that she was “obsessed” and stormed away. “My relationship with Jenn Fessler was surprising, disappointing, and something that I really wasn’t expecting… We haven’t spoken [in] almost five months,” Rachel stated.
Still, Jenn is hopeful that there could be a reconciliation in their future. “Listen, I only wish Rachel and her entire family good stuff. It hasn’t been smooth but I will always have love for her in my heart,” Jenn said.
Recently, Jenn saw a kind message from Rachel on one of her Instagram posts. “I just sort of melted. She wrote something really nice [and] everything else just kind of went away. I was like, ‘Rachey,'” Jenn shared. “I’m not giving up. I’m hoping that we can come back together in some capacity, but [I have] nothing bad to say about the Fudas.”
Real Housewives of New Jersey airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
