The Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs have one of the oldest and historic rivalries in the sport, and some of the biggest hatred you will find.
If you go to a divisional game between these two teams, at either of the historic stadiums, Oakland or Arrowhead, you will hear some of the craziest and most vulgar things your ears will ever hear. The hatred is real, and not every rivalry can say that.
And, that still rings true today, even if the Raiders haven't had any postseason success in 20 years, or they haven't won a Super Bowl in 40 years, and the Chiefs have won three during this dynasty they are currently in. They still hate each other, and you can, in fact, make a case that Patrick Mahomes is now the most hated man in the Raiders franchise history.
He beats them all the time, besides that one Christmas Day game. And has the most QB-HC wins in Allegiant Stadium all time, even more than any Raiders duo. He wins and he does it in the craziest and sometimes luckiest ways you will ever see, and that just adds to the hate.
But man, every player, just about, respects who Mahomes is. He's the best quarterback in the league. The best player in the league, and he's probably the only one who will ever get close to Tom Brady and what he did with both the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And Maxx Crosby acknowledges that his rival is the best, too.
Maxx Crosby says Patrick Mahomes is the best
"He's the best of the best, and I view myself as the best of the best. I'm trying to literally kill him every play. We have ultimate respect. When we're in between the lines, it's war, he's a f***** dog, and that's a matchup I look forward to every time," Crosby said on the Glory Daze Podcast with Johnny Manziel.
Fans won't like to hear that, but unfortunately, it is true. Mahomes has done some things that even Brady has never done. And, he has the greatest start to a career of all time. But the Raiders are one of the teams that have the ability to put an end to it all, as they play them twice a year, and Crosby knows that, too.
He respects him, yes, but he also wants to beat him badly, every single time they play. He wants to beat the best, which is why two years ago he wanted the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl over the San Francisco 49ers, because they play KC twice a year, and he wants to beat the best.
