In 2023, the Las Vegas Raiders struggled quite a bit in a year where they hosted the Super Bowl. A key area of their struggles was their quarterback room after it was assumed that bringing in former Super Bowl champion Jimmy Garoppolo would fix their problems.

The Dallas Cowboys, however, had a completely opposite season. Even though the team didn’t take home the Lombardi Trophy, they still had a tremendous regular season, during which they went undefeated at home.

The Cowboys’ current quarterback room consists of Dak Prescott, Trey Lance, and Cooper Rush, all of which could be considered starters if given the proper set of weapons. Five-time 1,000-yard receiver Davante Adams and rookie tight end Brock Bowers ensure no weapons shortage in Las Vegas.

Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy has talked up Trey Lance all off-season, leading some to think that the Cowboys may be looking to offload the former first-round pick to make room for a Dak Prescott extension.

Could Trey Lance Be Traded To The Las Vegas Raiders?

Fans have taken these rumors and run wild with them, as Lance could achieve a starting job in Vegas if they were to be traded there. Passing up free agent off-season signing Gardiner Minshew and sophomore Aiden O’Connell would be less complicated.

The proposed trade would see the 24-year-old gunslinger sent to Dallas in exchange for a 2025 fifth-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick. Dallas would recoup the salary and acquire some decent picks compared to what they traded for him, while Vegas would get a fresh new potential starter.

Lance’s 8 NFL games have seen him achieve 797 passing yards and five passing touchdowns compared to three interceptions. The young signal-caller, unfortunately, saw no action in 2023 with the Cowboys.

The NFL is a never-say-never league, so fans can only wait to see if this trade happens. If it does, the NFL will go wild with the news!
