Here's what to make of Victor Mancini potentially being back with the Rangers.

The New York Rangers have recalled Victor Mancini from the Hartford Wolf Pack of The American Hockey League according to the AHL transactions page.

Mancini started the season with the Rangers, but was sent down to Hartford in order to further his development.

There is still no official word from the Rangers about this move to call up Mancini from the AHL.

If the Rangers do indeed bring Mancini back up, it’s puzzling why the team would want to carry eight defensemen unless an injury was sustained last night that we are still unaware of.

The AHL transactions page states that the Rangers sent down Jake Leschyshyn, which would leave both Mancini and Chad Ruhwedel on the roster.

The 22-year-old played a total of three games with the Wolf Pack as he tallied one goal through his short stint.

There is still a lot to sort out, but right now it seems Mancini will return to the Rangers.
