The peach-holding ladies of Atlanta are gearing up for another dramatic season as “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” prepares to return with its highly anticipated 17th installment. While Bravo hasn’t officially announced a renewal, sources report that production will begin soon following the conclusion of Season 16.
The upcoming season promises to deliver the signature blend of glamour and drama that fans have come to expect. Several beloved cast members are making their return alongside some fresh faces ready to shake things up in the ATL. Kenya Moore previously revealed that “two new ladies are set to join the show,” though her own departure has shifted the casting landscape significantly.
Familiar Faces Making Their Comeback
Reports confirm several fan-favorite housewives will return for Season 17, per Just Jared. Porsha Williams will reclaim her peach. She is coming back as a full-time cast member after her tumultuous Season 16 storyline involving her second divorce. Williams originally joined the cast in season 5, served as a “friend of” in season 7, then returned as full-time for seasons 8-13 before taking a break and returning for Season 16.
Phaedra Parks, who made her epic comeback last season after being away since Season 9, will continue her full-time role. “You called. I answered,” Parks announced on Instagram. The former attorney served as a main cast member for seasons 3-9 and promises to bring her signature mix of fun and shade back to the group.
Drew Sidora will also be back as a main cast member, continuing her journey as she handles her music career and collaboration with Dennis McKinley, who happens to be Porsha’s ex-fiancé. This dynamic will likely create compelling storylines given the complicated connections.
Shamea Morton, whom producers promoted to full-time status in Season 16 after years as a guest and friend, will return for her second season as a housewife. Her decades-long friendship with Porsha Williams adds another established relationship to the cast dynamics.
Angela Oakley, who joined as a new housewife in Season 16 alongside her husband, basketball legend Charles Oakley, will likely return as she continues dealing with her blended family and renewing her wedding vows. Kelli Ferrell, the chef and owner of Atlanta staple Nana’s Chicken & Waffles, is also slated to return, though producers haven’t clarified her status as full-time or friend.
Notable Departures and Exciting New Possibilities
The most significant change for Season 17 involves Kenya Moore’s departure from the franchise. Moore, who first joined in season 5 and became a central figure through season 10 before returning full-time for seasons 12-16, revealed in July 2025 that she wouldn’t be returning. Her exit followed a mid-season departure during Season 16 filming after Bravo suspended her indefinitely on June 14, 2024, while the network reviewed an alleged incident with another cast member.
By June 25, 2024, Bravo confirmed she wouldn’t return to complete the season. In November 2024, Moore apologized for her actions related to the incident.
Brit Eady, who joined as a new housewife in Season 16 but found herself in a contentious feud with Moore, will not be returning after subsequently suing Bravo over the drama and quitting the show. Cynthia Bailey, the memorable housewife who served as a main cast member from seasons 3-13 and appeared as a friend in Season 16, also won’t return for the upcoming season.
However, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” may welcome some exciting new personalities, according to Just Jared. Pinky Cole Hayes, founder of the popular vegan restaurant chain Slutty Vegan ATL and author of the cookbook “Eat Plants, B*tch,” is reportedly in talks to join the cast. Author and philanthropist Eudoxie Bridges, who is married to rapper Ludacris, is also in talks to join the show.
“Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta” alumni are generating buzz as potential additions. Singer and businesswoman Tammy Rivera and singer K Michelle are both rumored to be in discussions about joining the franchise. K Michelle is potentially appearing as a friend of the show.
Reports suggest that negotiations with NeNe Leakes, an original cast member who left after season 7 and returned for seasons 10-12, fell through. Producers are also considering Kim Zolciak and Sheree Whitfield for guest appearances. Zolciak may potentially return as a friend after her recent Bravo appearance on “Next Gen NYC.”
According to Parade, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” Season 17 will premiere in 2026 at the earliest. Bravo will air the episodes with Peacock offering next-day streaming.
