‘Real Housewives’ Star Makes Big Reveal About Her Living Situation

Bravo star Meredith Marks revealed why she doesn’t own a home. The wealthy “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” veteran spoke out on a December 2024 episode of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Aftershow” to explain why she rents multiple homes all over the world instead of setting down roots in the city where her reality show is filmed.

“I have three residences right now,” Marks said. “I’m far from homeless, and yes, I rent. Times are tough. My ‘friends’ who think that’s so offensive should probably be apologizing to all the renters in the United States and worldwide.”

Marks explained that things changed after she and her husband Seth “were on the verge of a divorce” several years ago. According to Us Weekly, the longtime couple secretly separated in 2019 just before filming for the Bravo reality show started.

“We had sold our house in Park City shortly before that — we didn’t think we were staying married,” Marks said on the Aftershow. “After that, our kids were all out of the house. We were empty nesters. I’m an avid traveler, and I really just wanted no responsibility and no ties down.”

Meredith Marks Spends Less Than Half the Year in Utah

Fans have seen Marks living in several different rental homes since she first started on RHOSLC in 2020. During a 2022 appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” she explained that she was unsure where she wanted to live. “In terms of affording a house, we are living a lifestyle that we are actually spending a lot more money than it would cost us to buy a house because it’s what my choice is, to figure out what we want to do right now. We’re empty nesters for the first time,” she said.

On the RHOSLC Aftershow, Marks noted that she doesn’t spend most of the year in Utah. “I spend four to six months of the year in Park City, and I spend the rest of the year between New York, LA, a little bit of Miami, Europe, and a little bit of Asia sometimes,” she shared. “That’s kind of my life. It’s not so bad.”

She admitted that she is considering building a home to her liking in Park City, which is about 30 miles from Salt Lake City.

Whitney Rose Questioned Meredith Marks’ Housing Situation

RHOSLC cast member Whitney Rose once revealed she had no idea where Marks lived. In a September 2023 interview with Access Hollywood’s “Housewives Nightcap,” she claimed that Marks “doesn’t live in Utah” and “rents Airbnbs. “

“I don’t know where Meredith lives still to this day,” Rose stated. “It stresses me out. Like where does she put her cups and her forks and her knives? My house is only 6,000 square feet and I have a lot of stuff and I’m like where does she keep her stuff, because she has stuff. Like she has clothes, bags, shoes and I’m like, where does she keep all her stuff?”
