Rebecca Minkoff’s pregnancy prank may have sent shockwaves through the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City, but just what did her husband think of the carefully crafted rumor?

Rebecca opened up about husband Gavin Bellour’s response to Bravo HQ, sharing that he was one person who was in on the joke from the very beginning.

In Season 15 of RHONY, Rebecca and Erin Lichy decided to have a little fun with the rest of the ladies by starting a false rumor that Rebecca was pregnant and didn’t know who the father was, secretly watching as the sensationalized story got passed from one person to another in an attempt to locate the “leaky pigeon,” or person most likely to spread the juicy gossip.

“We devised that I’m pregnant and we don’t know who the father is just because it’s so ridiculous to spread that rumor, like you have to be a little cuckoo,” Rebecca told Bravo HQ.

What did Rebecca Minkoff’s husband think of the pregnancy prank?

The prank put Rebecca’s more-than-decade-long marriage front and center — something she admitted that she didn’t necessarily fully think through before crafting the lie.

“I could have probably chosen a different prank,” she observed. “Thank God my husband has a sense of humor.”

According to Rebecca, she called her husband “right after” she and Erin devised the plan and told him, “I just need you to know what Page Six is going to write about me, so we got to have a plan.”

He wasn’t the only one she let in on the secret.

“I called my parents and my husband called his mother. That was like the circle of trust,” she said.

With the plan fully in place, Erin and Rebecca sat back and watched as the rumor began to spread. By the time they had all gathered for an indoor game of dodgeball, the rumor mill was on overdrive and Rebecca, already a mother of four, finally admitted it had all been an elaborate prank.

While speaking with Bravo HQ, Housewife Ubah Hassan said that she had initially been in “shock” and then was flooded with relief when she realized it was merely a prank and Rebecca’s marriage was solidly intact.

Once the truth was finally out, Rebecca admitted she didn’t get the reaction from the cast that she had been expecting.

“No one laughed. You know I have regrets that no one thought it was funny,” she told Bravo HQ. “I mean, Erin and I laughed a lot, but I thought we were going to get more laughter.”

Even so, when Ubah asked Rebecca whether she’d do it all over again, Rebecca didn’t hesitate to confirm that she would.

“You would?” Ubah asked, before clapping her hands. “No regret here. That’s called a woman who’s assertive.”

And as for the “leakiest pigeon” in the group? Well, Rebecca stayed mum, but added that she felt the answer was obvious.

“I think it speaks for itself,” she said. “I think everyone can answer that question.”
