Rebecca Minkoff Says Some RHONY Cast Members ‘Twist Words’

With each passing day, it seems more and more like Rebecca Minkoff had no idea what she was signing up for with Real Housewives of New York. Between her controversial background and her sedated personality, it’s hard to picture her making a lasting impression on the Bravo universe. She has all of Season 15 to change our minds.

Until then, she’s learning lessons about what it means to be a part of the whacky world of RHONY. Her first lesson? Playing telephone with your castmates never works out in your favor.

Ahead of the RHONY Season 15 premiere, Rebecca spoke to Extra about all of her new castmates. Thankfully, she didn’t make any new confessions about trying to fake fights with Jenna Lyons. Instead, she talked about the “emotional roller coaster” of coming into the show.

Rebecca said, “For me to be a part of a cast of women that are self-starters, all entrepreneurs, we live in New York City, we know how hard this business is and so I thought showing that to the world is really something that’s iconic and should be seen.”

However, she quickly learned that it wasn’t a show about business. She said some of the women tended to play a messed-up game of telephone. Naturally, that wound up creating tension, and it sounds like Rebecca wasn’t ready for it. Specifically, she pointed a finger at Ubah Hassan for kicking things off.

Rebecca explained, “Ubah refers to us as pigeons. What she wishes we were her carrier pigeons, where the message goes from pigeon directly right but some of us in this group like to twist words and you know alter things.”

Twisting words and altering things? That’s what makes a great Housewife, Rebecca! Welcome to RHONY.

Season 15 of The Real Housewives of New York airs on Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
