Recent 2025 NFL mock draft would be a home run scenario for new Saints head coach Kellen Moore

Bản dự thảo NFL giả định năm 2025 gần đây sẽ là một kịch bản thành công cho huấn luyện viên trưởng mới của Saints Kellen Moore

Mock drafts keep coming, and they won't stop coming. The 2025 NFL Draft is just over two months away, and the New Orleans Saints have their new head coach to help lead the way when it comes to the incoming crop of rookies for the black and gold.

In In Chad Reuter's latest mock draft on NFL.com, the Saints made some smart decisions and took advantage of an extra third-round pick in Kellen Moore's first NFL Draft as a head coach.

Saints pick elite tight end in round one

Round 1, Pick 9: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

With Juwan Johnson entering free agency and Foster Moreau in a contract year, the team could use a big man like Warren in the middle of the field to complement a healthy Chris Olave in 2025.

Warren is widely considered the top tight end, and potentially pass game weapon, in this draft class.

He's drawn comparisons to Taysom Hill for his unique ability to be used in the run game, and he even made some nice throws during his college days as a Nittany Lion.

Warren is one of the most unique prospects in the upcoming NFL Draft, and it would be a surprise if he makes it out of the top fifteen selections of round one. While there are bigger needs for the Saints, the board fell in a way where this makes sense.

Day two goes well for New Orleans

Round 2, Pick 40: Shemar Stewart, DL, Texas A&M

Stewart is the type of defensive lineman that New Orleans has been intrigued by in recent years. He has great size and strength and can play both inside and outside if needed.

The Aggie product is usually selected in round one, but he falls to early round two in this scenario. If that fell into the Saints' lap, it would be an awesome sight to see for Kellen Moore's team.

Round 3, Pick 71: Tre Harris, WR, Ole Miss

Good value here for Harris. He has prototypical size and often won downfield for the Rebels over the past couple of seasons.

The Ole Miss wideout dealt with injuries during his college career that may give some teams pause, but adding him alongside Warren gives the Saints two new notable, young pass-catching targets.

Round 3, Pick 93: Jacob Parrish, CB, Kansas State

The secondary remains a question mark as a position group going into 2025. At cornerback, New Orleans needs to add another option at outside CB this offseason, but Parrish does not really accomplish that at his size.

Instead, he projects to be a slot defensive back who plays with a lot of energy and is not afraid of physicality. Late in round three, getting a player like Parrish could pay off quickly for the Saints' defense.

All in all, this haul is impressive for the Saints.

They addressed needs but also understood value of the prospects they took, when they selected them in the scenario. None of them feel like reaches at this point of the process, and there is clear upside throughout the front part of this potential class.
