On Friday, the team officially announced who would be filling those roles and who would be taking on new responsibilities.

Boston announced two moves that had previously been reported, as Chris Holt joined from the Baltimore Orioles to be the team's hitting coach and Dillon Lawson joined from the New York Yankees to be Holt's assistant.

Lawson isn't the only member of the staff leaving New York for Boston this offseason, as they've also hired Parker Guinn as the catching instructor/bullpen coach. He served as the Yankees defensive coach and DSL manager over the last two seasons.

With Guinn taking over as catching coordinator, Jason Varitek has been named the game planning and run prevention coach.

Boston promoted Jose Flores to be their first base coach and infield instructor. He spent the last three seasons as the bench coach for the Red Sox Triple-A affiliate in Worcester.

The announcement also included that manager Alex Cora, bench coach Ramon Vazquez, pitching coach Andrew Bailey, hitting coach Pete Fatse, assistant hitting coach Ben Rosenthal, third base coach/outfield instructor Kyle Hudson and bullpen catcher Charlie Madden will remain in the same roles.
