Top Red Sox pitching prospect Luis Perales left Double-A Portland’s game against Akron in the third inning Saturday with a potential injury.

Beyond the Monster’s Josh Ball wrote on Twitter that Perales “walked to the back of the mound shaking his arm out and walked to the clubhouse with a trainer.”
Red Sox director of player development Brian Abraham responded to a text from MassLive on Saturday evening that he had “no update as of now.”
Perales, a member of Boston’s 40-man roster, threw 36 pitches (25 strikes). He allowed two runs (one earned run), two hits and one walk while striking out three.
The Red Sox promoted the 21-year-old righty to Portland on May 23 after he had a 3.42 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, 46 strikeouts and 10 walks in seven starts for High-A Greenville. He has averaged 15.7 strikeouts and 3.4 walks per nine innings.
His start Saturday was his second with Portland. He allowed no earned runs, two hits and one walk while striking out seven in 5 innings in his Double-A debut June 2 vs. Altoona.
