The right-hander agreed to a contract with the Rangers on Tuesday night, FanSided’s Robert Murray reported. The deal is for $75 million over three years, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported.

Eovaldi declined his player option for the 2025 season in November.

Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young told reporters there’s a lot of interest in bringing Eovaldi back in free agency, and they were able to do so during the annual Winter Meetings.

Eovaldi signed with Texas ahead of the 2023 season after rejecting the Red Sox’s qualifying offer. He spent five seasons in Boston and stepped into the ace role in the absence of Chris Sale. He also pitched six innings of relief in Game 3 of the 2018 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers — a game that lasted seven hours and 20 minutes.

The Rangers won their first World Series title in ‘23 with help from Eovaldi who went 5-0 with a 2.95 ERA in six postseason starts.

Eovaldi went 12-8 in 2024 with a 3.80 ERA in 29 starts.
