General manager Steve Yzerman spoke this offseason about expectations surrounding the team, a glimmer of hope in a challenging situation.

On Friday, one of the Red Wings' most well known players, center Dylan Larkin, sparked positive feelings among Detroit fans as he shared his latest life update on Instagram.

Larkin shared a picture of his family's newest addition, delighting fans as they shared messages of congratulations with the familiar NHL player. 

"Lennyn Marie Larkin - you are our greatest dream come true," Larkin wrote on his Instagram page Friday as compliments and congratulations poured in. 

He included a photo of his new baby girl resting peacefully. 

Larkin and his wife Kenzy received congratulations throughout social media as he shared the message and photo.

The Detroit Red Wings' official IG account shared a red heart emoji. 

The Winged Wheel Podcast wrote, "Congratulations," along with a red heart emoji and an exclamation mark. 

Former Red Wings forward Anthony Matha wrote, "Congrats guys!!" along with a red heart emoji while the Michigan Wolverines' hockey account wrote "Congratulations!"

"How precious and sweet," another person wrote. "Congratulations, Kenzy and Dylan! Sending you both such love," they added with a red emoji of their own. 

"Congratulations, Larkins!" WXYZ-7 Detroit reporter Brad Galli added, sharing his excitement with the couple. 

"I simply cannot handle this beautiful angel!!!!" former Red Wing Justin Abdelkader's wife Julie wrote on X.

"Congrats to your sweet family," she added with a red heart.

"She is perfect."
