There’s one team that has emerged out of the shadows as a possible contender to trade for K’Andre Miller.

According to Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today, the Detroit Red Wings are a team to watch out for in the Miller sweepstakes.

Miller has been a player who the New York Rangers have been presumably trying to trade for weeks now and the Red Wings are really the first publicly been mentioned as a possible suitor for Miller.

It’s unclear if the Red Wings made any sort of trade offer to the Rangers and how far the two teams have gone in negotiations.

Despite all the rumors, Miller has not been dealt yet and according to ESPN’s Emily Kaplan, the Rangers have not gotten any offers they want in a trade involving the 25-year-old.

The Rangers have extended a qualifying offer to Miller.

It's been heavily speculated that the Rangers are the frontrunners to land Vladislav Gavrikov if he becomes a free agent, but that development may be all contingent on what they do with Miller.

The young defenseman will become a restricted free agent tomorrow if he does not sign a contract extension, which puts pressure on the Rangers to either sign or trade him.

This past season, Miller recorded seven goals, 20 assists, and 27 points in 74 games while averaging 21:57 minutes.
