The Detroit Red Wings traded right wing Robby Fabbri to the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday to clear some salary cap space after signing free-agent forward Vladimir Tarasenko.

Fabbri had one year remaining on his contract at $4 million.

Detroit also sent a conditional fourth-round pick to the Ducks and received ECHL goaltender Gage Alexander.

Fabbri, 28, tallied 18 goals and 14 assists in 68 games last season.

He played five seasons in Detroit after being acquired in a trade from St. Louis for Jacob de la Rose in 2019 and collected 66 goals and 61 assists in 234 games.

Alexander, 22, went 5-8-2 with a 3.76 goals-against average and .887 save percentage in 19 games for ECHL Tulsa. He likely is headed to ECHL Toledo.
