Red Wings Sign Former First Round Pick to One-Year Deal

The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker to a one-year deal.

The Red Wings have signed former Sabres defenceman Jacob Bernard-Docker to a one-year, $875,000 deal that will give Detroit a solid depth option on the blueline.

Bernard-Docker was the Senators first-round pick back in 2018 and has shown massive upside at certain points as a prospect. When playing at the University of North Dakota, Bernard-Docker recorded 15 goals and 45 assists for 60 points through 95 games.

The 25-year-old defenceman still can grow into a decent player as he's yet to get through a full 82-game season but has so far failed to meet high-end expectations with 10-15 points every season so far.
