It will be Edvinsson’s first appearance in the tournament, which runs from May 9-25 in Stockholm, Sweden, and Herning, Denmark.

Edvinsson scored seven goals and collected 24 assists in 78 games. He led the team with a plus-12 rating while playing on the first or second pairing all season and averaging 21:07 in ice time. He did not qualify as a rookie, however, having appeared in 25 games combined the previous two seasons.

Edvinsson, 22, previously represented Sweden on the national stage at the 2022 World Junior Championship, where he won a bronze medal.

He is the second Red Wing to commit so far to the World Championship, after Moritz Seider was named to Germany’s squad.
