Report: Mia Thornton’s RHOP Exit Wasn’t Entirely Her Decision, Claims Source

When Mia Thornton announced she was leaving The Real Housewives of Potomac, she claimed it was because of her family’s decision to relocate to Atlanta. Days later, insiders are coming forward with more thoughts on her exit. There’s definitely more to this story, which is pretty on-brand for Mia.

Was Mia Thornton pushed to leave RHOP?

The last time we saw Mia on our screens, she stormed away from the RHOP Season 9 reunion, frustrated with the criticism she received from her castmates. Gizelle Bryant was the one who pushed her over the edge. She drilled into her about using kids for a storyline. She also accused Mia of lying about living in Potomac.

Mia announced her exit from RHOP on April 21, writing a lengthy post on Instagram thanking fans for their support. She teased that she was starting a new chapter in Atlanta. It definitely read like someone who left on their own volition.

'RHOP' Star Mia Thornton Says A Paternity Test Is "Not As Important" To Her As It Is For Her Boyfriend

“With every new season comes a new beginning, and I have some news to share,” Mia wrote. “My family and I have made the decision to relocate to Atlanta, and with that, I will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac next season.”

An insider spoke to OK Magazine about the situation, and they claimed that Mia didn’t choose to leave. Supposedly, Gizelle might have been onto something when she said that Mia lied about her living situation.

“I am certain she wouldn’t walk away from her own,” the source claimed, adding that she “didn’t actually live” in Potomac.

According to the insider, who may or may not have been Gizelle on a burner phone, Mia bounced between rental properties each season. While most of the ladies don’t live in Potomac, it sounds like Mia didn’t have a permanent address anywhere in the area.

“That’s why every season she lived somewhere else,” the source continued.

Meanwhile, some fans suspect that Mia’s “move” to Atlanta was to pick up a peach on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. It could also be a way for her to be closer to her on-again, off-again boyfriend and best friend, Incognito. Either way, Season 10 of RHOP is moving on without her.
