Saad split last season with the St. Louis Blues and Vegas Golden Knights. In 72 games between the two teams, Saad scored 13 goals and added 30 points.
The Golden Knights signed Saad for the push to the playoffs after the Blues terminated his contract to shed salary.
Two-Time Stanley Cup Champion and Playoff Experience
Saad will brings veteran leadership and championship experience to his team. He has been a regular fixture in the playoffs since his career started.
Saad started his career with the Chicago Blackhawks, where he won the Stanley Cup twice in 2013 and 2015. He also went on a deep playoff run with the Hawks in 2014, but their quest for a second-straight Stanley Cup (and what could have been a three-peat) ended in Game 7 of the Western Conference Final.
Saad also has playoff experience from his time with the Colorado Avalanche and Blues. With the Avs, Saad helped the team reach the second round in 2021. After signing with the Blues that summer, Saad helped the Blues reach the second round. He also appeared in eight post season games for the Golden Knights this past season where he registered two assists.
Role with Vegas
Saad is only a season removed from scoring 26 goals, doing so with the Blues during the 2023-24 season. In At 32-years old, Saad’s best seasons may be behind him. A 26-goal season may even be a tall order for the two-time Stanley Cup Champion However, he can still be an asset to Vegas as they look to contend this coming season.
Saad will likely play in a middle-six role for the team. If he can score in the area of 15-20 goals and use his speed to create plays on both ends of the ice, that will be a huge asset.
