When it comes to Angela Oakley, there’s much more than meets the eye. She’s not just the wife of an NBA star dodging rumors about a secret love child. The Real Housewives of Atlanta newbie is also rocking a $2 million debt. In short, this woman has no shortage of storylines in her first season on Bravo.
Angela made the shocking revelation during RHOA Season 16 Episode 10. Obviously, she’s feeling the pressure, but don’t worry too much about Angela. She’s got a plan to get this debt paid off.
RHOA’s Angela Oakley got real about her debt

At the beginning of RHOA Season 16, Angela claimed she was a self-made millionaire. We’re not sure if she miscounted or what happened, but in Episode 10, she said she was $2 million in the hole thanks to a series of investment properties she bought.
“So I own five investment properties,” Angela explained. “Most of them are ready for the market. It’s just that the price that we are positioning them at hasn’t been the most welcoming to the market, because I haven’t sold any of them yet.”
Angela continued, “I’m in debt $2 million, so I am in some deep sh*t with these houses.”
We love that she’s fully aware that this is an unmanageable amount of debt. What we don’t love is just how nonchalant she seemed about the whole thing. Where is your sense of urgency, Mrs. Oakley?
In one scene, Angela invited Kelli Ferrell over to one of her rental properties. Kelli is in the market for a new home, but it won’t be one of Angela’s. After taking three steps into that place, it became clear to Kelli and everyone at home why none of these houses had sold.
“When do you think it’ll be ready?” Kelli asked, to which Angela replied, “It’s about to hit the market in the next 10 days.”
Meanwhile, this sprawling house had zero appliances, a pool with no water, and a narrow closet for the primary bedroom with a small window at the end of it. The real kicker? Angela’s asking price for this home was $3 million.
“I am desperate to unload these houses,” Angela admitted in a confessional.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta continues on Bravo on Sundays at 8/7c and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
