RHOA’s Cynthia Bailey on Why She “Couldn’t Support” Kenya After Brit Drama, Bravo’s Decision to Stop Filming With Kenya, and What She Told a “Remorseful” Brit

Cynthia Bailey appeared on Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she reacted to Kenya Moore and Brittany “Brit” Eady‘s feud.

RHOA's Cynthia Bailey Gives Kenya Moore Friendship Update After Brit Eady Drama

After expressing her disappointment in Kenya, 54, on The Real Housewives of Atlanta after Kenya blew up explicit images of Brit, 37, to showcase at her hair salon event in response to Brit mentioning a gun during an earlier argument, Cynthia, 58, revealed when she last spoke to Kenya, reacted to Bravo’s decision to quit filming with Kenya, and said that when it came to speaking out against Kenya, she didn’t know if Kenya “was surprised.”

“But Kenya knows that I hold her to a certain standard because I know her and I know what she’s trying to do with her life as a businesswoman, as a mom, and I just felt like this was not a step in the right direction so I couldn’t support it,” Cynthia stated on the April 6 episode of WWHL.

Although Cynthia didn’t appreciate the actions Kenya took against Brit, she was “shocked” to learn that Bravo had opted to stop working with her after its investigation into the matter.

“I think most of the cast was shocked, we were totally shocked,” she stated. “We didn’t know what, if anything, was going to happen, to be honest. It wasn’t easy. It was also sad because we didn’t want to lose Kenya off the season because she’s a big player on the show. All those good confessionals and stuff, all those shady, funny things, and for us, I keep saying I felt like you guys, the network, you guys had such a great vision for season 16, putting this specific cast together, and it’s just so unfortunate that the fans didn’t get to see it play out with the cast, including Kenya.”

Despite their former friendship, Cynthia confirmed she and Kenya hadn’t spoken “since the whole incident happened.”

“We texted back and forth a little bit, and then I had to go out of town, and I texted her again when I got back, and I called her. But I’m here. Just to make it clear, that’s okay. I respect people’s space, and Kenya knows that I’m here whenever she wants to talk,” she explained.

As for her comment about Kenya’s presentation being the “lowest thing” she’s seen during her time on RHOA, Cynthia noted, “I’ve seen a lot.”

“I’ve seen some stuff. I’ve made mistakes on the show, and I’ve seen people make mistakes, and I feel like at the end of the day, it just was beneath Kenya,” she shared.

Looking back at the way Brit went after Kenya during last week’s episode, Cynthia admitted she was “shocked.”

“I was a little disappointed in the way she behaved. I felt like it was inappropriate, but I felt like she was remorseful in the end, which is good,” she reasoned.

Cynthia also applauded Brit as “genuine” when asked about her bringing flowers to Kenya’s event.

“I feel like she was genuine. I did tell Brit, this part didn’t make the episode … ‘Kenya’s special. If she’s not ready to receive you yet, [she’ll], like, call security and put you out,'” she recalled. “I was like, ‘This is great because you showed out in the parking lot, so this is a good gesture for you, but don’t be surprised if you get put out.’”

Reflecting on the moment in which Kenya debuted her poster boards of Brit, Cynthia admitted she didn’t know what was about to happen.

“We were there to support Kenya’s haircare spa. I’ve seen her work on this for so long. This was literally her moment. It was just such a positive moment, and we were all there to support her, so we just, honestly, I just didn’t see it coming, to be honest. I felt like it took the focus from her haircare spa, which is amazing, to this kind of dark moment,” she explained.

Cynthia also shaded Kenya when asked about the “worst host” of a girls’ trip.

“When we did the trip where Bolo was there … that was for my bachelorette party,” she shared. “It was Kenya. She kept ordering food for herself, and she wouldn’t feed us, so I’m gonna say she was the worst host.”

Moving on to the drama between Porsha Williams, 43, and Drew Sidora, 39, Cynthia reacted to Dennis McKinley, 48, confirming Porsha knew her co-star was working with him.

“I was a little surprised. That whole situation, a little tricky for me,” she stated. “I would never work with any of these ladies’ baby daddies, boos, husbands, even cousins at this point. Are you related to any of the cast? I can’t work with you. I’m not gonna bring you on these cameras. But I love the fact, and I love Drew, that she said that Dennis was like her savior, or her angel, or whatever. So when you put it like that, I feel like, if God sent this man to you, then I can be okay with you. I’m not gonna go against God.”

When Andy Cohen, 56, wanted to know if Lenny Kravitz, 60, asked for Cynthia’s number at Mick Jagger‘s 80th birthday, Cynthia confirmed that while “numbers were exchanged … no one called each other.”

She then signaled her new boyfriend, LePrince.

“He’s a musician,” she gushed.

Then, when Andy further wondered if Cynthia would have texted Lenny if she didn’t have a boyfriend, all Cynthia would say was, “Why are you so messy today?”

As for Peter Thomas, 64, and his recent social media drama with Porsha, who called him out for always involving himself with the women of the cast, Cynthia said she wished Peter “would just leave the ladies alone.”

“When we were on the show, he would go back and forth with them, and I guess, obviously, not much has changed. I just try to stay out of it,” she stated.

Cynthia also weighed in on Kelli Ferrell, 40, coming in hot by accusing Porsha of stealing Simon Guobadia, 60, from his former wife, noting that their friendship has evolved.

“I think Kelli’s great. She’s a great addition to the show. She’s a fellow Pisces, so we just connected on that level as well, but I like her. She’s little but she’s mighty,” she shared.

Also on the show, after asking, “What’s wrong with a bob,” in regard to the backlash she’s received for her season 16 hairstyles, Cynthia reacted to Garcelle Beauvais, 58, quitting The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

“I was surprised,” she admitted. “I knew Garcelle before Housewives. We actually used to model together, and I thought she was a great addition, but I also love the fact that if she’s ready to walk away, then I think it’s great to take a pause.”

“I feel like she can always go back. But I love Garcelle,” she added.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 16 airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
