“The gallbladder will be coming out very soon,” the registered nurse anesthetist shared. “The surgeons were very concerned about there being tumors on my liver, so we had an MRI last week, and the MRI did not show any visible tumors or anything anywhere else. So, that was incredible news.”

That is actually very good news. Hopefully, the tumor on her gallbladder can be completely removed, and Annemarie can resume her busy life.

Annemarie Wiley is optimistic about a “positive outcome”

Following the removal of her gallbladder, it will be sent off to pathology to be analyzed and categorized as “cancerous, malignant, or noncancerous benign.”

“I’m super optimistic,” she added. “The surgeons are super optimistic, so I’ll keep you guys posted.”

She encouraged fans to “prioritize your mental health and minimize stress” by doing “whatever it is that you do to manage your stress.” She added, “Stress can do awful things to our bodies!”

“Focus on what nourishes you,” the mom of four continued. “Exercise, meditate, stay off social media when needed, and remove toxic situations and people from your life. Your health is your most valuable asset, so protect it fiercely.”

After thanking fans for their “love and support,” she expressed hope that “If sharing my experience encourages even one person to listen to their body and advocate for themselves, that brings me so much joy.”

Encouraging fans to “trust their instincts [and] listen to their body”

Last month Annemarie, wife of former NFL star Marcellus Wiley, shared the news about her tumor. In the months before her diagnosis, she suffered from “tremendous stress and anxiety,” which resulted in weight loss and “debilitating” upper abdominal pain. Rather than seeing her doctor, the trained nurse ignored her symptoms until the pain “became unbearable.”

“I believe in the power of being open and transparent—especially when it comes to our health,” she wrote from her doctor’s office. “If sharing this can inspire even one person to trust their instincts, listen to their body, and get checked, then it’s worth it.”

“Always listen to your body,” Annemarie continued. “Don’t wait if something feels off or you know something isn’t right. Your health is everything.”
