Denise Richards‘ estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, claims her alleged cheating is what led to their divorce.
After the 54-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum accused him of physical abuse, including a gruesome black eye, in a restraining order request made days after his divorce filing, Aaron, 52, is suggesting that he caught her cheating — and has text messages to prove it.
“I have all the pictures of them having an affair and other stuff. They were texting back and forth, and I caught it,” Aaron said during a July 19 interview with TMZ. “Her and I were watching the show Traitors on the sofa … and she fell asleep, and I just had this feeling. Now, I have her passcodes for her stuff. I’m going through it, and I go in to delete it, and I see some text messages that are super inappropriate, and I’m like, ‘What the hell?’ She goes, ‘What?’ She wakes up, and I go, ‘Why are you doing this?’ And she goes, ‘Oh my God. Please don’t leave me. Don’t leave me.’ And I leave and go to the other unit, and she’s like, ‘I’m so sorry. I won’t do that again.’ So we make up.”
Included in Denise’s alleged messages to the other man were several selfies and flirtatious messages, including one in which she reportedly wished him “sweet dreams.” She was also supposedly caught making plans to meet the unnamed man at a hotel.
According to Aaron, he first caught Denise communicating with the other man in February.
“She didn’t even invite me to her birthday [on February 17] because she was talking to this guy, and then she was gonna meet that guy the day after my birthday, which is March 19,” he shared. “So I see all this stuff going on, and I’m crushed. Nine years. With vows.”
After the initial incident, Aaron explained, Denise gave him permission to “look at [her] stuff anytime” to rebuild trust. However, by May, he had found additional messages between them.
“I opened her computer, and all I did was hit ‘refresh’ or upload … and it repopulated all the text communication that she deleted from her stuff. And it was jaw-dropping and I took pictures of it,” he revealed.
Also speaking to TMZ, Aaron looked back on the July 4 fight he and Denise had that led him to file for divorce. While Denise claimed Aaron had been berating her and demanded she allow him access to her phone, Aaron said he was actually the one who wanted his own phone back.
During the incident, Aaron alleged, Denise hit and scratched him before he located his missing phone in the trash can, where it was smashed into several pieces — potentially in an effort to destroy the evidence he had of her supposed affair.
Aaron also claimed Denise had texted his mother, informing her of plans to divorce him, which prompted him to get to court first.
In addition to bringing cheating claims against Denise, Aaron, who has denied ever getting physical with her, showcased photos of the inside of one of their homes, which was a total mess.
