RHOBH Season 14: The Best One Yet? Here’s Why It’s a Must-Watch

Currently airing on Bravo is Season 14 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. If you ask me, this is the best season yet. The ladies are consistently delivering in the 90210 and beyond. The drama, healing, honesty, rawness, and laughs are on point, and even when my frustrations are flaring, my eyes stay glued to my screen.

There is something about this cast that I cannot help but adore. Every star has experienced the loss of a marriage, so there are ties that bind them all together. In Season 14, two stars are wading through separations. Watching their costars standing ready, using their shared experiences to help pull their afflicted friends out of the mud, has been lovely.

Thankfully, pettiness still lives on, offering us something to rant about as each episode airs. But, minus one recent jab-gone-wrong based on drinking patterns, none of their squabbles have caused potentially life-altering consequences. This lesser-drama narrative has not always been the case.

In seasons past, we watched as accusations of addiction and homophobia entered the chat. Then, we got rumors of talking about the husbands that caused dark reactions, plus online bots that came after a child. It was getting heavy. But Season 14 of RHOBH is changing things, and in my opinion, the ladies are doing the following things right.

Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley are finally being honest with each other, and healing is (somewhat) taking place on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemsley are both separated from their husbands. Marriage is hard, but exiting a marriage, even temporarily, offers you a different side of your once beloved partner, and this side is rarely pretty. As Kyle and Dorit are both experiencing this, you would think their bond would be stronger than ever. But, nope.

Dorit has a lot of pent-up anger against Kyle. She feels their friendship is one-sided, so now that life has stolen her kind filters, Dorit is letting her frustrations air with Kyle. But Kyle is also hitting back, and the drama here remains high as Season 14 starts winding down on Bravo.

However, Kyle and Dorit still care about each other, as we saw in Episode 12. Following another heated row, Dorit and Kyle bonded over their shared separations. Neither one of these women is feeling like themselves, they admitted, as they agreed that their potential divorces are making them feel like they are living in limbo.

Watching Dorit and Kyle take many breaths after their confrontations to speak honestly about their shared afflictions has been beautiful. They are nailing the balance of real and raw, and I love this about Season 14 of RHOBH.

Meanwhile, Sutton Stracke and Dorit Kemsley are also feuding, and their jabs are messy with a side of comedy

Sutton Stracke and Dorit have never been BFFs. Sutton finds Dorit long-winded and phony, and Dorit finds Sutton harsh. While my hopes were high that they could make peace in Season 14, peace is still miles away for these two women.

Sutton and Dorit have consistently been at odds this season, and both have hit below the belt with their accusations. Dorit is honing in on every drink Sutton takes, while Sutton stays focused on finances, using elitist quips to shut Dorit down. Both are throwing damaging blows, but I know how to find humor in dark places, and their arguments are, dare I say it, sometimes comedic AF.

When Dorit called Sutton out for labeling her a “f*cking bitch,” Sutton responded, saying, “I called you a f*cking c*nt.” Whew. But funny.

Later, Sutton showed up to a party hosted by Dorit, and Dorit left her sitting alone downstairs for 39 minutes. When Dorit finally descended, she failed to greet Sutton. Then, Dorit took her purse, holding it hostage for a long time as their costars watched, torn between amused and terrified over how Sutton might react.

And yes, later on, Sutton bit back, slamming Dorit for owning a slimmer wallet than she does. These two are giving heat, imitations, pettiness, and unintentionally comedic scenes on RHOBH, and I am here for it.

Jennifer Tilly and Bozoma Saint John are brilliant additions to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast

Jennifer Tilly and Bozoma Saint John got added to the cast in Season 14. Jennifer is a part-timer, while Boz is a full-timer. But these women equally serve us via fashion, wealth, and friendship on RHOBH. And yes, I am here for them both forever.

Dorit needs an ally. Boz fits this for Dorit. But Boz is more than an emotional support human for Dorit. She is also a strong, wealthy, independent woman who has ruled in more boardrooms than most.

Therefore, her spidey senses are high. Watching Boz sit back and analyze her new cast like an HR head has been entertaining, especially in her confessionals.

Meanwhile, Jennifer is hysterical, witty, and lacking of any fucks to give. She gives us laughs and iconic looks (with jewels) for days. Jennifer also helps pull her bestie Sutton out of funks, and their scenes air like the film Beaches, minus any sad endings.

To Jennifer and Boz, you MUST stay because this writer finds you both irreplaceable on RHOBH.

Erika Jayne, Garcelle Beauvais, and Kathy Hilton consistently provide lighthearted, honest, comedic scenes on RHOBH

Likewise, Erika Jayne, Garcelle Beauvais, and Kathy Hilton are doing proper service to their roles on this cast as Season 14 plays on. All three of these players are sitting back and watching the drama unfold. Sometimes, they are stepping in with an assist, and other times, they are not.

Kathy and Kyle are sisters. However, Kathy is treating the feud between Kyle and Dorit respectably. She inserts necessary hot takes to help Dorit understand Kyle better, but she also listens without judgment whenever Dorit vents. Kathy is acting like a proper friend and family member (when not hooked up to an IV, blocking a catwalk, wearing a lampshade hat, or … you get the point) this season on RHOBH, and I love it.

I also love Erika this season. Like Kathy, she is here for everyone, including hot dogs. Watching Erika crawl out of her former dark storylines has been great, and her raw, honest responses with Dorit about her possible impending divorce have been necessary.

Then we have Garcelle, who remains tight with Sutton but still calls out her friend as needed. Also, her scenes are funny, like when she experienced a jumpscare because she thought a former cast member was present at an event. Or when she and Boz had a hysterical conversation after Sutton acted up, using only a few words along the lines of, oh no, she didn’t, followed by a girl, yes, she did.

Finally, zero storylines feel scripted in Season 14 of RHOBH

Sometimes, reality television stars underestimate their audiences. But when fake, pre-planned storylines arrive, for the most part, we clock them anyway. In seasons past, RHOBH had several of these narrations, and yes, I loathed them all.

Puppygate happened in Season 9. Then, we have everything the Fox Force Five did, which always reeked of pre-planned messiness. But in Season 14, we are getting only authentic storylines, which, finally.

Sutton is trying to heal from her tough-as-nails Southern upbringing and the horrific loss of her father when she was younger. Meanwhile, Kyle and Dorit are dealing with their men, who might turn into ex-husbands sooner rather than later. Erika is growing comfortable in her skin as a single home-dweller, turning her modest space into one she can finally be proud of. In addition, Garcelle is dealing with her aging children, and Boz is thinking about adding another tot to her lot with her new man.

RHOBH Season 14 is giving me life. And if you ask me, it is the best season yet for this city.
