RHOBH’s Garcelle Beauvais Hits Back Against ‘Racism and Hate’ After Presidential Debate

Garcelle Beauvais put her foot down in the face of recent ridiculous and absurdly racist claims from major politicians. On September 15, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared an Instagram reel with her followers, communicating her frustrations and disappointment.

Garcelle Beauvais Says RHOBH Fans Should 'Expect Drama' From Season 13

“Staying silent in the face of racism and hate is something that I refuse to do,” she said. “This past week, the lies that have been spewed about the Haitian community – about my community – have been disgusting, deeply hurtful, and dangerous. Now this is not about politics. It’s about humanity.”

With tearful eyes, Garcelle continued. “We must condemn this kind of hatred – this kind of racism – for anyone. I have always been a proud Haitian immigrant. Coming to America, working hard – that’s what we do. Coming from gratitude. And I will not sit by and let people talk about my community in any way they want for their own gain.”

Here are the lies Garcelle Beauvais is talking about

For those who might be out of the loop on U.S. politics, rumors recently spread like wildfire regarding Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio. Those on the political right claimed that Haitian immigrants were abducting and eating pets of Springfield residents.

Prominent right-wing politicians parroted these talking points, including former President Donald Trump in his much-discussed debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. The debate moderators fact-checked Trump on these claims. Even Springfield police said the claims were baseless, as NPR reported. As NPR further wrote, these rumors were “debunked” and “dehumanizing.”

As MSNBC reported, Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, didn’t seem to care that he was spreading misinformation, even when confronted with the facts. In his interview with the network, Vance said, “If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that’s what I’m gonna do.”

How interesting that Vance and his party only created more suffering with their “stories.” Garcelle was spot-on when she accused others of “talking about [her] community … for their own gain.”

Garcelle encourages her followers to register to vote

Garcelle continued her message to fans by saying, “The power we have is the power to vote. To register and vote and stop this madness – this chaos.” She then spoke Creole to her followers, encouraging them to vote in her native language.

“I am not gonna sit by. It’s just not okay to treat people like this. We’re supposed to be uplifting each other. From our leaders to our neighbors. This has got to stop. And we have to do something about it; we can’t just sit by. Thanks for listening. Register to vote. We have fifty-something days. Go out and vote. We need to stop this chaos.”

In the post’s caption, Garcelle wrote, “I have been holding this in for a week, hoping praying it would go away, but it hasn’t!” She added, “Anyone who knows me, knows that I speak my mind! This madness has got to stop.” Garcelle is not the first Housewife to make her support clear this election cycle. Nor, in general, the first Bravolebrity to signal her political leanings.

It should go without saying, but Garcelle is right. Such hate and racism should not exist. Politicians should know better than to parrot false, hurtful, dehumanizing claims for their own benefit. And we must hold them accountable when they act so irresponsibly.
