RHOBH's Garcelle Beauvais Takes Stand for Haitian Community After Former President Donald Trump Claims Migrants Are Eating Pets in Ohio Town, Condemns "Racism and Hate" as She Encourages Fans to Vote

After former president Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, repeated a false rumor suggesting that Haitian migrants had flooded Springfield, Ohio, and were eating the town’s household pets, which has repeatedly been denied by city officials, the 57-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member released a statement.

“Staying silent in the face of racism and hate is something that I refuse to do,” Garcelle began in the September 15 post. “This past week, the lies that have been spewed about the Haitian community, about my community, have been disgusting, deeply hurtful, and dangerous. Now this is not about politics. It’s about humanity. We must condemn this kind of hatred, this kind of racism for anyone. I have always been a proud Haitian immigrant.”

“Coming to America, working hard — that’s what we do, coming from gratitude. And I will not sit by and let people talk about my community in any way they want for their own gain. The power we have is the power to vote, to register and vote and stop this madness, this chaos,” she continued. “I am not gonna sit by. It’s just not okay to treat people like this. We’re supposed to be uplifting each other. From our leaders to our neighbors, this has got to stop. And we have to do something about it. We can’t just sit by.”

Garcelle went on to encourage those watching to register to vote and stand up for change.

“Thanks for listening. Register to vote … Go out and vote. We need to stop this chaos,” she declared.

The false claims of Haitian immigrants eating pets has been widely debunked, and after Trump shared a video of a woman being arrested for killing and eating a cat, TMZ confirmed the 27-year-old woman was a native American with suspected mental health issues. She was arrested last month in Canton, Ohio, and not Springfield.

Even more, Haitians in Springfield, Ohio, now face numerous threats, including bomb threats.

Following the sharing of her video, Garcelle received support from a number of her fans and followers, as well as a couple of former Bravolebrities.

“Supporting you and your community,” wrote Crystal Kung-Minkoff, 41.

“Dangerous and disgusting we love you,” added Dorinda Medley, 59.

“Powerful beautiful,” shared Eboni K. Williams, 41, as Jamie Foxx, 56, posted a series of heart emoji.
