Jennifer Tilly addressed her potential feud with Dorit Kemsley while appearing on Tuesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
After it was reported that Dorit, 48, was the only cast member who wasn’t following her, and after Dorit refused to wear a caftan to her Caftan & Caviar party, the 66-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed if they’re at odds, reacted to Dorit’s ongoing drama with Sutton Stracke, 53, and commented on Mauricio Umansky‘s possibly “staged” pics with former flame Nikita Kahn, 33.
“I heard that theory [about Dorit and I] and I really try not to get on Twitter that much,” Jennifer began on the February 25 episode of WWHL. “Dorit’s going through a really hard time, and she wasn’t even posting on Instagram … I think it just didn’t occur to her to follow the new ‘friend of.'”
Despite the lack of a follow, Jennifer said she “really [likes] Dorit.”
“I just think she’s very clever, and of course, she’s incredibly fashionable, which is a good reason to like anybody, and we don’t have any beef at all,” she confirmed.
As for whether Dorit purposefully didn’t wear a caftan to her party, Jennifer did throw some shade.
“She said in the confessional, she said, ‘You know what? I don’t look good in caftans, so I’d rather wear Dior.’ So I think that she sort of skimmed it and was sort of like, she said she read ‘caviar,’ but she didn’t read ‘caftans.’ But if you see the invitation, it says, ‘caviar and caftans,’ so her reading comprehension level leaves a little to be desired,” she admitted.
During Tuesday’s episode of RHOBH, Sutton lashed out at Dorit, pointing out that her “wallet” was much larger than her castmate’s. And although the diss made for quite a cringy moment, Jennifer noted that her longtime friend could do no wrong.
“People really like Sutton. Sutton can say there’s no Santa Claus, and they [would be] like, ‘We love her.’ It doesn’t matter what she does,” she stated before Andy Cohen, 56, interjected.
“Well, let’s continue watching the season and see if that holds,” he teased. “People are fickle.”
Jennifer also mentioned that she doesn’t think Sutton actually considers herself superior due to her finances.
“I do not. In fact, when she said it there was a stricken look on her face, which might have been edited out because they wanted her to look like the bad guy,” she suspected. “It was a terrible thing to say, and she admitted it, and she was actually thinking of giving Dorit her purse … to make up for it.”
Then, when her fellow guest Crystal Kung-Minkoff, 41, pointed out that Sutton later said she did not regret the comment, Jennifer clarified her claim.
“In the moment, I think she regretted it. In the After Show, she doubled down … but I think in the moment, she was sort of stricken,” she explained.
Moving on to the photos of Mauricio, 54, and Nikita in Greece, Jennifer agreed they seemed “staged.”
“I think it was the girl cuz she was wearing her fancy, see-through outfit. What’s the point of dating Mauricio if no one knows? Isn’t that why you go out with him?” she wondered.
According to Jennifer, it is Dorit who has the “worst poker face” of the RHOBH cast.
“When she’s upset, you can really kind of tell that she’s upset,” she shared.
During another moment of WWHL, Jennifer was asked why it was okay for Sutton to imply that Kyle Richards, 56, stopped drinking because it was a problem, but it was also okay for her to be sensitive to Dorit’s jab at her own alcohol consumption.
“Some of the girls say to Sutton, ‘You can dish it out but you can’t take it,’ and I understand that,” Jennifer replied. “It feels really good to dish it out, but it doesn’t feel good to take it. We’re all like that. So, it’s not right, but it’s human nature. Sutton’s a real, live person, y’all.”
Regarding her finances, which have been a hot topic in recent weeks due to the money she gets from her late ex-husband’s creation of The Simpsons, Jennifer joked that she actually doesn’t carry a big wallet.
“I have a very small wallet because all I need to put in it is my black Amex. So it’s teeny,” she laughed.
Also on WWHL, after admitting Sutton’s taste in men is “not so good,” Jennifer reacted to Sutton’s decision to wear a cat sweater on her first date with Sanjit Das amid season 12.
“I thought it was adorable, and you don’t want to be too sexy on the first date because then the man’s gonna want to take you to bed,” she explained. “She was cuddly, but she looked like somebody you would not want to do raunchy things with, and I think that’s perfectly okay.”
