Teddi Mellencamp in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Mellencamp was candid about her prognosis during an appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Showwhere she said she "is choosing faith over fear." The reality star also opened up about the disease's physical toll, explaining that she has had to put her usual routine on pause due to the effects of radiation, immunotherapies, and all her surgeries.

Mellencamp confessed that she experiences moments of anger because, in her mind, she was healthy and taking care of herself. She credits her father, musician John Mellencamp, for being her rock throughout her recovery. Despite the uncertainty surrounding her health, the Bravo star is committed to staying honest about her journey. In her exact words: “People need to know it’s okay to be upset.” Mellencamp concluded the conversation by saying that right now, she is channeling all of her energy into staying hopeful for the future.

During a return appearance on her and Tamra Judge's Two Ts in a Pod podcast, she shared why she had to stop immunotherapy. According to Mellencamp, the initial rounds of radiation and immunotherapy were manageable for her, but months down the line she could barely open her eyes or speak clearly. She immediately scheduled a doctor’s visit, where she learned these were all side effects of prolonged immunotherapy.

The reality TV mom admitted that in the beginning, she felt good enough to go out with her kids and stay at the house by herself. However, she has slowly felt her energy levels dipping to the point where she finds herself unable to do things she could have a few weeks ago. “The hardest part for me has been like, ‘Wow, I can’t do what I did yesterday,’” she added.
